The Board of Trustee consisting 7 members is the highest policy making body of the organization having meeting at least once in every three months. At present the body consists of 6 members, Dr. Abbas Bhuiya (Deputy Executive Director, ICDDR,B) is the Chairperson, Maksudur Rahman (Ex-Principal, Charfassion College, Bhola) is the Vice-Chairperson, Mr. Zahirul Alam FCA (Sr. Consultant and General Manager (Internal Audit), Janata Bank Ltd.) is the Treasurer , Ms. Sumsunnahar (Gender Consultant) and Dr. Tofail Ahmed (Consultant, UNDP, Bangladesh) are the members of the board. Rezaul Karim Chowdhury acts as member secretary as well as Executive Director.

COAST Trust believes the Participation, Accountability and Transparency (PAT) in its own governance. It has written manuals on human resource, financial, field operation and audit manuals maintaining internationally accepted standards, which are also being regularly reviewed. It has regular process reporting to local government, to all upper level and also has annual systematic review process interacting with all internal and external stakeholders including beneficiaries. There is a meeting system where all the stakeholders including the staff have the regular scope of participation. COAST has the initiatives to build institution of the poor families i.e., people organization who also has the scope of participation in the COAST decision making process in all level. Thus in all these way, COAST believes that it is a people centred organization.

The accounts and financial systems of the organization are audited by the external audit firm enlisted by the NGO Affairs Bureau in every year. The financial year of 2002 was audited by S.F. Ahmed & Co, financial year of 2003 and 2004 were audited by Masih Muhith Hoque & Co. and the 2005 has been audited by A. Wahab & Co. The financial year of 2006 and 2007 and up to June 2008 have been audited by HudaVasi Chowdhury & Co. and July 2008 to June 2009 the accounts have been audited by SF Ahmed and Co. Recently July 2009 to June 2010 the accounts have been audited by HudaVasi Chowdhury & Co. All the audit reports can be found in our website i.e. www.coastbd.org which is updated regularly.
